RULES OF PLAY

RULES OF PLAY
A taxi squad of up to 3 players of any position, at a cost of $2.00 per player can be picked after all drafting has been completed, or a 2 week maximum wait. YOU MAY ONLY DRAFT 3 MEMBERS TO YOUR TAXI SQUAD. IF YOU DECIDE TO WAIT TO FILL YOUR SQUAD AFTER THE 2ND WEEK THE COST WILL BE $5.00 AND WILL BE TREATED THE SAME AS A DRAFT. These players can be activated at any time during the season at a cost of $2.00 per move. {NO LIMIT ON MOVES}  If a player is brought up from the taxi squad, a player of the same position must be sent to the taxi squad or released. If a player from the active roster is moved to the taxi squad the owner must use another taxi move to return said player to the active roster. If a player is dropped to the taxi squad it will cost $2.00. If a player is dropped off the squad it will cost another $2.00. In other words if you draft a player for $5.00 and drop a player to the taxi squad and drop a player off the squad the total cost will be $9.00.
HIGH POINT POOL AND M.V.P. POOLS
Each owner will pay $2.00 per week to the high point pool except for the owner with the highest point total for the week. The owner with the M.V.P. for the week will only pay $1.00. $1.00 will go to the M.V.P. pool and $1.00 will go to the high point pool. The owner with the lowest point total will pay $3.00 to make up the difference for the M.V.P. One-half of the high point pool will be paid to the owner who has the highest one week total for the year and the other half will go to the championship pool. The owner who has the M.V.P. for the week will receive half of the pool for the week with the other half going to the owner who has the highest M.V.P. total for the year.
TURKEY OF THE WEEK
The owner who has the lowest point total each week will win the coveted TURKEY OF THE WEEK AWARD. This owner will be the servant for all the other owners at the following weeks meeting making sure all other owners are supplied with refreshment when-ever asked and will wear the special apron for the entire evening during Monday Night Football. If said owner fails to show for his duties a $5.00 fine will be levied and will have to share responsibility with the next weeks turkey. {NO EXCUSES ARE ACCEPTABLE} If there is no meeting scheduled the following week the owner will be required to pay $5.00 to the play-off pool.The owner with the lowest score in the play-offs will serve as Turkey at the following years draft.
TIE BREAKERS
FIRST PLACE: If tied at the end of the season, the team with the best head to head record will be the champion. If still tied the team with the highest point total in the head to head games will win. If 3 or more teams are tied the team with the highest yearly point total will be the champion.
SECOND PLACE: Head to head results will determine teams tied for second. If still tied, the teams will split 2nd and 3rd money. If 3 or more teams are tied, the team with the best win/loss record between the teams tied, no matter the number of games played and the remaining 2 teams will split 3rd place money.
THIRD PLACE; Same as 2nd place money
FOURTH PLACE;    $125.00 
 
LINE-UPS
Line-ups must be turned in before the start of the first game of the week-end. SATURDAY AND THURSDAY GAMES: Only the players involved in those games need to be turned in before game time on those days. If not turned in by game time, no players involved in those games can be used. {NO EXCEPTIONS} The remainder of the line-ups can be turned in before game time on Sunday. All line-ups must be turned in to your opponent of the week and the commissiner. The commish. will post the line-ups on the line-up page on the web site. You may make changes in your line-up until kick-off of the first game, at which time line-ups will be official. If you are out of town and cannot get in touch to post your line-up on the site, you will use the line-up posted for the preceeding week with the exception of the players involved in Thursday or Saturday games. No players involved in Thursday or Saturday games can be played if not turned in prior to those games.
 DRAFTING OF PLAYERS
1. Draft Day: All ownersmust be present and on time or be subject to a $5.00 fine. If you can't be present, you must have some-one there to draft for you or you lose your franchise. SATURDAY, AUG. 25, 2007 AT 5:00 P.M.
2. Drafting of players during the year must be done before half time of the Monday night game. {NO EXCEPTIONS} If 2 or more owners draft the same player an auction will be held at half time with the first bid going to the owner who drafted the player first. Opening bid will be $5.00 with at least $1.00 raises between bids. No player may be played the following week unless drafted by half time Monday night. Filling of taxi squad members will take place the first 2 Monday night games at half time. At that time the owners drafting to the taxi squad will have first choice over the regular draft. After that no-one will be able to draft to the taxi squad unless they have an open spot on the taxi squad and will be charged $5.00 just like the regular draft.
3.TRADING OF PLAYERS may only take place during the first 13 weeks of the season.
4. BROOKFIELD FOOTBALL LEAGUE OWNERS: will be required to host one Monday night meeting during the season. The remaining weeks of the season will be up to the members who want to voluntarily meet at a resturant, pizza place, etc. or wish to have an extra meeting at their house. All members will be required to attend at least 6 of these meetings not including their own day to host. It will be up to the rest of the owners to decide whether or not an owner failing to do so will their it's franchise.
5. Losses, fines, drafts, and head to head losses will be tallied up on the who owes what sheet on the web page. Head to head losses will be rounded up or down to the nearest dollar.
6. The shedule each year will be made up according to how many teams are in the league with positioning rounds at end of the schedule, if necessary.
7. Any owner with a player on his roster that is arrested for any reason during the season will be fined $10.00, payable to the winners pool.
8. Draft Day will be Saturday August 25, 2007 at 5:00 P.M. Each owner will have 100 points to draft the first 7 players on their rosters. Players will be awarded to the highest bidders. 2 running Backs, 3 Receivers, 1 Quarterback, and 1 Field Goal kicker. Minimun cost for a player will be 2 points. You must have at least 2 points for all remaining players drafted. After everyone has drafted their 7 position players, the remainder of the roster will be filled bu drawing owner names and selecting 1 through 12 and back, with the number 12 owner receiving 2 picks and going in reverse order until all rosters are complete.
9. Fines will be levied for table talk. The first time will cost you $2.00. Each time afterwards will cost $5.00. In other words, you draft your team and let everyone else draft theirs, or it will cost you money.
10. Play-off Rules: Roster for the play-offs will be the final roster the last week of the season, Excluding the taxi squad. All players on the roster are eligible for the play-offs. Taxi suad members can be activated for the play-offs at a cost of $2.00 if there is an open spot on the roster. The owner with the highest point total at the end of the play-offs will be the play-off champion and will receive the amount in the play-off pool and will be exempt from paying the entry fee the following season.
11. A three person committee, consisting of the 3 senior members of the league will decide on any disputes arising on the rules unless they are involved in the dispute, in which it will go to the next senior member. Their decision will be final.
12. All head to head winnings and losings will be combined and included int the league championship fund. This will be included on the Who Owes What page on the web site. If team A beats team B whatever team B looses will be added to his bill and whatever team A wins will be deducted from his bill.
13. If an owners debt to the league reaches $50.00 after week 3, there will be a fine of $10.00 added to it. If the debt reaches $100.00 an additional fine of $20.00 will be added. In other words, stay current with your debts and you won't have any problems. This rule hasn't been enforced in the past but will be this year so stay current. It's not that tough.
14. Mike Avina will serve as SARGENT OF ARMS when it comes to fines. Any owner being fined has the option of taking their case to kagaroo court to plead his case. If the court agrees with the owner, the fine will be dropped. If the committee agrees with fine, it will be doubled.
15. All rules are subject to change at the meeting at the beginning of each season. Any additional rules or changes to the rules must be ratified by an owners majority. The Commissioner only has a vote if there is a tie in the voting. All suggestions for rule changes will be posted on the suggestion page of the web site for your perusal. Suggestions for change can be e-mailed to me at touchdown@roadrunner.com. or posted on the guest book of the web page.
16. Any new rules ratified by the owners will be added to this page at the beginnig of each season.
 
2007 NEW RULES
17.Defenses will receive 2 points for each sack.
18.League Fee will be raised to $125.00 with $125.00 going to 4th place.
